Hello, friends.

For years I talked about colonizing some place to construct a new city. My friends would joke it'd be called Bobby City.

I had lots of generic ideas about how to make it nice. No cars or carceral punishment. Lots of green space and accessible infrastructure.

Individually-owned digital spaces feel like small antidotes to the colonizer mentality. To the collection of power and to the optimization and homogenization of everything.

Ironically, tiny corners we organize ourselves have been feeling more nurturing to community than central spaces specifically designed for community-building. Less extractive and more fundamentally liberating.

My stream of conciousness: @burger on Mastodon.

Love,

Bobby
